Within the first day at each school I became an integral part of the classroom community. I have excellent abilities in becoming friends with the students while maintaining the necessary position of the teacher. During student teaching I attended parent/teacher conferences, faculty meetings, and district curriculum design meetings. I had many successes in utilizing knowledge of classroom management.
To engage students I used technology creatively in the classroom, adapted curricula to meet goals, and modified assignments for individuals as needed.

University Responsibilities

Resident Advisor- 2 years

Being a Resident Advisor is a leadership role for maintaining the Quality of Life in the dormitories. My responsibilities include communicating with Facilities Management and Housing to ensure the safety and cleanliness of the dormitory. I uphold University policy on activities that take place in the dorm, and students come first to their Resident Advisor on any issues regarding the University. Being a Resident Advisor has strengthened my skills in communication with many varieties of people.

Student Senate – 3 years

Student Senate meets 3 times per month to discuss any proposals or issues that concern the student body. We communicate to our constituents each week on the meeting, and sometimes have to organize votes to bring back to the senate. I have enjoyed having the opportunity to act as a voice for my constituents.
